Mr. Nanavati is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Virginia, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the United States District for the Western District of Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States of America. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar's Construction Law and Public Contracts Section, the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Inn, American Inns of Court and the Bar Association of the City of Richmond.
Mr. Nanavati has successfully represented insurers, their insureds and self-insured entities in large loss tort litigation, construction defect litigation, commercial litigation, insurance coverage disputes and product liability matters since 1995.
Regarding construction defect litigation, Mr. Nanavati has handled hundreds of residential and commercial construction defect claims and suits through negotiated settlement, mediation, arbitration and trial. The matters range from single family homes to large office and hotel complexes to multi-district litigation. He has been regularly involved in product related construction defect litigation including EIFS, fly ash, CSST, Chinese Drywall and Hokie Stone.
Regarding large loss tort litigation, Mr. Nanavati regularly represents defendants in catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death matters. He has particular experience with high-exposure claims and has a reputation for resolving or successfully trying difficult cases in difficult places.
