Mr. Hardt is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Virginia, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the United States District for the Western District of Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar's Construction Law and Public Contracts Section, and the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys.
Over the years, Mr. Hardt has been both a plaintiff and defense attorney giving him a unique experience in dealing with large and complex matters. Since 1984, he has handled nationwide product liability coordination and defense, large commercial construction defect disputes, class action and Federal Multi-District construction/personal injury litigation, risk management analysis, and personal injury prosecution and defense of matters ranging from automobile accident actions to medical malpractice trials. He has been involved in mass product defect/construction issues including Chinese Drywall and EIFS lawsuits
Based on his experience, Mr. Hardt’s philosophy is to quickly analyze each matter at the early stages to explore ways to resolve issues before full-blown and sometimes expensive litigation. In those matters that cannot be resolved early, he aggressively represents his clients to reach their desired resolution. He enjoys a good reputation among both the bar and the judiciary, and strives to maintain those relationships to better assist his clients in dealing with their own individual matters.
